OUR STORY

  Fashion designer Kermit Collins, also known as "BIBIA" Introduce his comprehensive line of clothing to the fashion industry in 2005. BIBIA is not only the nickname of this uniquely talented gentleman - it is also the name of his urban casual clothing brand. The brand represents the color "Black in fashion, Culture and life styles. The trademark brand name BIBIA stands for: Black is Beautiful in America - Black is Beautiful in Atlanta - Black is beautiful in anything.

 

 

Mr. Collins was reared in the Melphomene and Magnolia housing development in New Orleans, Louisiana. After completing high school, he attended Delgado Community College where he studied computer graphics illustration and began to apply them to his natural talent for creative design. While mastering his skills, he began to develop an interest in the fashion industry and began to learn the business of production and merchandising in pursuit of launching his own brand.  He regularly attends trade shows such as Magic Product Pool Trade Show in Las Vegas Nevada. At such events, Collins exchange ideas and knowledge with the industry's leading designers. Retailers, manufacturers and social media icons. Mr. Collins has even traveled to China and established relationships with manufacturers and importers.

 

 

 

In the summer of 2005, Mr. Collins began selling his line of t- shirts, jeans, caps and skull caps in downtown New Orleans and in neighborhoods around the city. The impact was immediate and overwhelmingly positive and unique color combinations and styling generated significant interest, even drawing the attention of local celebrities.....some looking to endorse the clothing brand. However, Hurricane Katrina struck in August of 2005 and like everything else in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, Collins was force to abandon his immediate plans and began seeks to re-launch his clothing brand, BIBIA, to the forefront of the fashion urban market. With unique fusions of colors and innovative styles, paired with high quality product and an aggressive marketing plan, Kermit Collins is ready to make an impact in an industry niche desperately in need of his passion and vision.
